Most of the time we are just talking about bees and the weather, preparing for the honey show and complaining that there aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything this fascinating ‘hobby’ demands of us. A conversation at our regular Tuesday meet ups evolved to ensure that we try and have fun socially as well.

Our first social outing – for the non-superstitious amongst us – was on Friday 13th September. Suggested and organised by Aaron Spencer and Andy Winters, we decided on the Rhodehouse venue in Sutton Coldfield to watch a band – Monkey Business.

It was a great evening in the quirky venue and everybody was ready for some fun and dancing. The band were phenomenal – I would highly recommend them! They covered lots of genres from The Cure to Depeche Mode and The Killers and had people up and dancing from the first beat.

The event was well attended and everyone let their hair down (maybe with the help of just one or two drinks!)

A resounding success for the first social meetup!

The next event is a Curry Night in Boldmere on Friday 8th November. If you’d like to come, please do let us know – all are welcome. See events for more details
