Canwell Show

One hundred years ago on Thursday 29th July 1925 the very first Canwell Show was held. It was the ‘Age of Jazz’, the very first television pictures were broadcast and beekeepers were using their love of pipe smoking to calm their bees!!  ((20+) Facebook)

Canwell Show is one of the Midlands’ largest and oldest one-day agricultural events and we at Sutton and North Birmingham beekeepers association have been proud supporters for many years. So on Saturday 9th August, armed with our usual outreach props, we engaged, educated and entertained the crowds of people visiting our stand. Many thanks go to the volunteers who gave up their time to help promote our bees and pollinating insects in general.  A great day was had by all.
