A couple of our members attended the final day of the Great Yorkshire Show based in Harrogate on Friday 12th July. The focus was the Bee and Honey show (which included classes of live bees), but there was so much more than that. There were lots of other classes entered which were on display including dairy and cheese. Other Livestock was on show as well including horses, cows, sheep and dogs – bloodhounds and sheep dog trials. There was farming equipment for all eventualities as well as clothing, gifts, kitchen equipment, food & drink and a WI display. Street food was available in abundance and LIVE talks and demonstrations were put on at the various arenas and stages. It was a sight to behold and definitely worth making the trip for. The Honey Show stewards were very kind in looking after us and we learned a lot about classes that aren’t currently included in our local honey show – plenty of food for thought!
