Proficiency in Apiculture Assessment

Last weekend, three of our members took their Proficiency in Apiculture Assessment at the association apiary on what proved to be a warm, sunny day— thankfully not quite as hot as earlier in the week, making conditions much more comfortable for both the candidates and the bees.

Over the past few months, the candidates have worked hard to develop their practical beekeeping skills and knowledge, building confidence in handling bees safely, recognising healthy colonies, and applying good beekeeping practices. The assessment gave each candidate the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned in a supportive and relaxed environment.

A sincere thank you goes to our assessor and everyone who helped prepare the apiary to ensure the day ran smoothly. Well done to all three candidates for the commitment they have shown throughout their training. We now await the results and wish them every success.
