Our 6 week winter beginners course started on Monday 3rd February.
We have had a record number of places this year, with 20 ‘newbees’ taking part.
The course provides a basic understanding of bees and beekeeping, with a few practical sessions, such as making your frames.
The 6 week course covers the following –
- Honeybees and inside the hive
- Equipment and getting started
- History of beekeeping/Hives/frames/foundation/Beespace
- Honey and products of the hive
- Honeybee pests and diseases
- Beekeeping year
We hope their participation will continue in our club and go on to join the more hands-on Summer Course
