Winter Beginner’s Course

Our 6 week winter beginners course started on Tuesday 6th February.

We have had a record number of places this year, with 20 ‘newbees’ taking part.

The course provides a basic understanding of bees and beekeeping, with a few practical sessions, such as making your frames.

The 6 week course covers the following –

  1. Honeybees and inside the hive
  2. Equipment and getting started
  3. History of beekeeping/Hives/frames/foundation/Beespace
  4. Honey and products of the hive
  5. Honeybee pests and diseases
  6. Beekeeping year

We hope their participation will continue in our club and go on to join the more hands on Summer Course.
